Grrrl In Print Issue 5 'Queer Utopias' Digital Download
Everybody deserves escapism, and it's something the queer community is very good at - not only as a means of self-care and survival but as a way to forge a vision for the future, pushing boundaries byond the status quo and tradition, because we've rarely been accepted there anyway. Utopia literally means “no place” and it’s the ideal location for escapism - especially the many forms of queer escapism: queer utopias.
We explore this idea of QUEER UTOPIAs through 80 pages of interviews, artworks, photography, essays and comics created by 20 artists and writers from across the globe. The zine contemplates where robots meet bodies, nourishment of love and food, how we slow down and remain tender within hyper capitalisation, and how queerness, the environment and home building intersect; alongside some sci-fi love.
Each perfect bound zine is unique, with a sewn-in bookmark and lucky paper from zine workshops.
